Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We were fortunate to have such a sunny afternoon on Wednesday for our Shakespeare musical, which celebrated the end of our Brilliantly British theme. The children in Class 1 and 2 started the performance by singing a song about castles. Then our musicians played Elizabethan Music on recorders and drums, to change the mood for the Shakespeare musical. The children in Years 5 and 6 acted the play which told the story of a Shakespeare play being performed at the Globe theatre. All the children in school joined in with the songs and have learned so many facts about William Shakespeare by singing them. Thank you to the family members who came to watch and well done to the children for performing so well.
Diana from Blue Cross (Pet Rescue) came to host an assembly at our school. She talked to us about: how to look after pets; what pets require (food, water, care, love, exercise) and the importance of being kind to animals. Our children learnt, through role play, how to approach an unknown dog and the three Cs of canine choice - check, call, count. Check is asking the owner if you can stroke the dog, call is calling the dog to you by patting your legs and saying 'Hello' and count is when you count three strokes and give the dog the choice to walk away or stay.
What a brilliant and very informative assembly for our pet-loving pupils!
Children wore non-uniform and brought a donation for the charity Newlife - The Charity for Disabled Children, which has supported a pupil and his family by providing essential equipment. We raised £71.00, thank you.
This year we supported PAFRAS with donations of food and raised £57.80 for the Christian Aid Harvest Eco Veg appeal, thank you.
