Remembrance

On Friday 9th November we held a special Remembrance Worship in school. Mr Atkinson came and talked to the children about World War 1 and how it affected families in our community. We presented a wreath to Mr Atkinson to be laid at the Whixley war memorial and two Year 6 children wrote a beautiful response prayer. The choir sang Shalom and we all sang Peace, Perfect Peace and It’s a long way to Tipperary.

During the week we have learned about Remembrance and the Armistice Anniversary. Children in Class 3 made clay poppies with the residents of St John's Nursing home which have been displayed in St Thomas's church over the Remembrance weekend.

We have also supported the British Legion by selling poppies in school.
