Inclusion Advice and Resources

Hello, my name is Mrs Hairsine, I am joining the staff team at Green Hammerton as SENCO. I’m really looking forward to meeting you all and getting to know you and your families. I had such a lovely time in January when I spent the day at interview and was very impressed by how friendly and welcoming you are. I will be working hard to ensure that everything continues to run smoothly, Miss Langley and l are working together to ensure that this happens.

I have a wide range of experience in different schools both big and small, most recently in a specialist SEMH school in Hampshire. I am a TouchBase mentor and PACE practitioner and my favourite things to do at school are making dens, big art projects and creative play.  I have moved back up to Yorkshire with my husband, children and rabbits and soon we'll be welcoming a puppy!  We’ve been living all over the country with the Royal Navy so we are glad to be settled in our home and starting new adventures in North Yorkshire. It will be a big change for us as in our last house we could see the sea from our sitting room!  I’m a firm believer in play, creativity and listening.  I love big walks, baking, going to the theatre and yoga.

Please see below for some links to resources for explaining COVID-19, physical distancing and good hygiene; especially handwashing. These resources are shared with permission.
Here are a few ideas for practical ways to reduce anxiety. These are links to a variety of websites aimed at children and young people and their adults. Each one with lots of things to make, do or try to help our brains feel calmer and our bodies feel more relaxed.

Joyful June activities to help keep your mind calm.
