The Yo Yo team have continued to be very kind in their support for school. Marion and Tamsin visited on Monday 10th May to lead an outdoor session for each class which were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Classes 1 and 2 focused on the Prodigal Son Bible Story through Godly Play and Classes 3 and 4 enjoyed sessions focusing on Ascension and Pentecost.
In memory of Captain Tom Moore completing his 100 steps challenge, the Year 5 children in Class 3 organised a ‘100 something’ event. They set a number of challenges around the school field for children to complete including 100 skips, catches, runs and goals. We also wrote 100 word poems thanking Captain Tom and completed a variety of ‘make 100’ number problems. We would like to congratulate the Year 5 children for organising a fantastic event for the rest of the school!
Each class enjoyed a session with Marion and Tamsin from York Youth Trust Today. The sessions focused on Creation and we were amazed with some of the questions that the children asked.
We have had a lovely first few days back at school following lock down. The children walked through the gate with big smiles, and school has felt happy and settled.
We are enjoying Science Week with each class completing exciting investigations.

As a response to the news about the Australian Bush Fires, on 14th February the School Council organised a fundraising day to make our school ‘koala protectors’ with the World Wildlife Fund.
During the day children dressed up as an animal native to Australia or in the colours of the Australian flag, too part in koala hand painting and held a second hand toy stall. The School Council also organised a koala art competition. We raised £152.95 which will help us to support 6 koalas. Well done!
