This term our topic is 'Healthy Lifestyles'. We will be learning about the importance of making positive choices and how these choices impact on our physical and mental health and well-being. We will also be learning about the importance of a health diet and regular exercise and the impact they have on our lives. We will be reading 'The Boy in the Dress' by David Walliams as well as using clips and stills from the BBC dramatisation of the story to support our learning.
PE and Forest Schools - Summer Term
Throughout the summer term, PE sessions will be on Monday and Wednesday every week. Monday's sessions will be either swimming or PE with Mrs Law. Please ensure you have the correct kit in school on these days. Please also ensure that any jewellery, including earrings, are not worn to school on these days. Thank you.
Every Friday, the children in class 3 are very lucky to have a forest schools session with Mrs Taylor. Although the weather is improving the children may still get muddy or a little dirty during these sessions and we do go outside even if it is raining! Please ensure you provide a change of clothes that you do not mind getting extremely dirty (preferably old clothes) including a change of shoes. This should be different to your PE kit please.
Homework - Summer Term.
Spelling: The children will receive spellings on a Monday (listed in planners). These are practiced in school and at home throughout the week in preparation for a test the following Monday.

There could be a prize waiting for you so don't forget to hand your planner in every day!

March 2019 - Spring Term 2
This term we had great fun learning about different inventions and how the Romans impacted on the lives we lead today. During British Science week we enjoyed learning about different aspects of science and how it impacts on our everyday lives. We also enjoyed doing some fun mini-investigations such as how to make an egg float.
In English, we used the amazing picture book 'The Tin Forest' by Helen Ward and Wayne Anderson to stimulate our writing. We describe the main character and the setting and how they change and develop throughout the story and we 'invented' our own tin worlds with tin foil which had imaginary tin creatures living in them. we then used these imaginary worlds and creatures to write non-chronological reports and stories set in imaginary worlds.
This half term we have been working really hard in our class. We have learnt about the Shang Dynasty in history and how all the people in the Shang Dynasty lived in different ways according to who they were.
We have loved our class text 'The Firework Maker's Daughter' by Philip Pullman and we have written some fabulous character descriptions for the main characters, Lila and Lalchand.
In Science we have learnt about everything that living things need to survive and how to classify animals in different ways.
We had a lovely Christmas craft afternoon when our parents and grandparents came in and helped us make Christmas crafts.
